A standard clean using regular tap water actually shortens how long the result lasts, since the water itself leaves mineral residue behind as it dries — competing with whatever it just removed. A deionized water clean, checked with a TDS meter, holds noticeably longer because there’s nothing left behind to bond with the next round of salt or dust.

Small Habits That Extend a Clean
